2008 Scoping Meetings Capture Community Comments
The City of West Sacramento, in coordination with the City of Sacramento, Sacramento Regional Transit and Yolo County Transportation District, has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Downtown/Riverfront Streetcar project.
Two identical meetings were held in Sacramento and West Sacramento on October 2, 2008 to capture community feedback on the scope of the environmental analysis. |

Community Advisory Committee Provides Valuable Insight
A Community Advisory Committee was formed to engage the community to consider plans for the Downtown/Riverfront Streetcar. Leaders from community groups including Chambers of Commerce, neighborhood associations, mobility and transit riders organizations, and property owners and businesses along the proposed alignment were invited to participate in meetings held April 17, 2008, and June 19, 2008.
As a result of community input, a briefing packet was created to help CAC members take the message to their affiliated groups for further consideration.

During the week of October 30, 2006, the project team conducted a planning charrette to attain public input and address technical issues in a focused and concentrated one-week period. Part of this process was to provide the public with more information on streetcar systems and gain input as to their preferred destinations. Participants included the general public and specified interest groups, such as neighborhood associations, business and tourism experts, transit riders and developers.
The charrette summary, outlining common themes and destinations, is available for your review.
